According to the Nigerian Railways Corporation (NRC), the Abuja to Kaduna train service has recorded approximately 900,000 passengers in two years.
The Abuja – Kaduna railway services has raked in over N1.1 billion in its first two years of operation
President Muhammadu Buhari had on the 26 of July, 2016, flagged off the commercial operations of the service. The service has provided 600 direct jobs since inception.
Before 2016, there was no operational standard gauge railway in West Africa, The Abuja-Kaduna Standard Gauge Rail is the pioneer standard gauge operation in West Africa and carries an average of 2000 passengers everyday to and fro Abuja – Kaduna.
