The ABUJA FACTS team alongside some great individuals visited the IDP Camp in Durumi on Wednesday to donate relief items such as foodstuff, clothes, shoes etc.
The team was received by the Secretary of the camp who introduced his team and gave an overview of the issues being faced by the IDPs.
One of the participants, Amina Abdullahi said it was her first time of visiting an Internally Displaced Person’s camp and she is glad she made a decision to be part of such a humanitarian project.
According to another participant, Hauwa MD Ibrahim, “The initiative is a very good one. We could see how happy we made them feel. Especially the kids, with just Capri Sonne drink and biscuits you can make a child happy. It’s something we should inculcate in our routines not just once in a while but let us share the little we have with these people more often”.
“This is a marvelous way of giving back to the society. The smile on the faces of the people tells you a story. It was a wonderful experience for me and I am always looking forward to doing it again, thank you Abuja Facts”, one of the partners, Mike Tolani said.
However, the Convener of the outreach, Isa Ozo said the outreach has been ongoing but the Abuja Facts platform decided to make it public this time to bring in partners who are willing to donate to the needy.
